SRPH Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies

  • Editor-in-Chief: Professor Ir. Dr. Ismail Bin Musirin
  • Publication Period: Quarterly
  • This is an Open Access Journal

SRPH Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (SJIS) is a scientific journal published quarterly by SRPH Press under the responsibility of its Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board. The journal provides a platform for the publication of original, rigorous, and innovative research that addresses scientific and engineering problems through interdisciplinary perspectives.

SJIS publishes research in interdisciplinary science and engineering, with particular emphasis on studies that integrate theories, methods, computational techniques, analytical approaches, or applications from multiple disciplines. The official language of the journal is English, with abstracts also provided in Persian.

The journal welcomes theoretical, computational, experimental, and application-oriented studies that contribute to the understanding, modeling, analysis, design, optimization, or solution of complex scientific and engineering problems. Research that combines engineering disciplines with mathematics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, or other scientific fields is particularly encouraged.

The scope of SJIS includes, but is not limited to:

  • Civil and Structural Engineering: structural analysis and design, construction engineering and management, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water and hydraulic engineering, environmental engineering, infrastructure systems, and related computational and analytical applications.

  • Mechanical Engineering: mechanical systems, energy systems, thermofluids, materials, manufacturing, dynamics, control, and related interdisciplinary applications.

  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering: electrical systems, electronics, power systems, control, signal processing, communication systems, and related technologies.

  • Computer Science and Information Technology: computer systems, information systems, software engineering, data science, computational methods, and emerging information technologies.

  • Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems: machine learning, deep learning, computational intelligence, optimization, pattern recognition, intelligent systems, and AI applications in science and engineering.

  • Applied Mathematics and Statistics: mathematical modeling, numerical methods, optimization, probability, statistical modeling and analysis, differential equations, computational mathematics, and mathematical methods applied to engineering and scientific problems.

  • Modeling, Simulation, and Computational Methods: mathematical and computational modeling, numerical simulation, system modeling, digital simulation, uncertainty analysis, and simulation-based investigation of complex systems.

  • Engineering and Scientific Applications: interdisciplinary research integrating two or more engineering or scientific disciplines to address practical or theoretical problems.

  • Data-Driven and Optimization Methods: statistical learning, predictive modeling, data analysis, decision-making, optimization, and computational approaches applied to scientific and engineering systems.

  • Emerging Interdisciplinary Technologies: innovative applications of computational, mathematical, statistical, engineering, and scientific methods to emerging technological and societal challenges.

SJIS particularly encourages research in which interdisciplinarity is an integral part of the research problem, methodology, modeling, analysis, or application. Manuscripts should demonstrate a meaningful contribution beyond the routine application of established methods and should clearly communicate how the integration of disciplines contributes to solving the problem under investigation.

The journal welcomes contributions from researchers across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, computer, and other engineering disciplines, as well as mathematics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and related scientific fields, provided that the work has a clear interdisciplinary dimension and scientific contribution.

Retraction Policy
SJIS supports the view that publishing ethics are of the utmost importance and will strive to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.Occasionally, there are exceptional circumstances that result in a retraction of a published article: violations of ethical conduct, which include, but are not limited to, plagiarism, multiple submissions of the same article, fraudulent use of data, and invalid claims of authorship. Retractions may be requested by authors or the editor of a journal, and such requests for retraction are investigated thoroughly, following COPE’s (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Should the investigation lead to a retraction of the article, a retraction notice is published in the next available issue. In the online version of the retracted article, the retraction notice will be attached to the original version, and the title and abstract of article will be retained in the HTML version.  PDF of the document will be removed, but the metadata (title, abstract and authors) remain with “Retracted” in front of the full title.

Generative AI Policy
SJIS supports the responsible and transparent use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in scholarly publishing.
For Authors
Authors may use GenAI tools to improve language, grammar, or readability. However, authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and scientific content of their manuscripts. GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors.
If GenAI has been used beyond basic language editing, authors must disclose its use in the manuscript, specifying the AI tool used and its purpose.
GenAI must not be used to fabricate or manipulate data, images, references, or research findings.
For Reviewers
Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts or any part of them to publicly available GenAI tools, as this may compromise confidentiality and copyright.
For Editors
Editors may use AI-assisted tools for administrative or language-support purposes but will not use GenAI to make editorial decisions. All publication decisions are based solely on independent editorial judgment and peer review.
SJIS follows internationally recognized publication ethics and encourages the ethical, transparent, and responsible use of Generative AI throughout the publication process.
